It’s Saturday morning and the sun is shining in the cheese state. As I got up this morning, I thank God for blessing me with another day. I then got out of my bed and began to contemplate on what I wanted to blog about today. I immediately thought of self-care.
Many individuals around the globe are working towards becoming healthier people and that’s amazing. Some are writing down goals to lose weight while others are improving their eating habits. It’s good that we are working on our physical health but what about our mental or spiritual health? What can we do to satisfy our overall well-being? Maybe practicing self-care would be a great start.
The world has been increasing the idea of self-care but many of us are still not practicing it. Why not? It’s FREE. Sure there are many activities that you can engage in that cost money, but self-care is FREE. Take advantage of that. “Satisfy your soul with self-care.”
Today take the time to do something positive or something that makes you happy. Some of you may be working a 1st shift, a 2nd shift, or even a double shift. You still have the opportunity to practice self-care. On your break, take 3 to 4 minutes and write down a list of things that make you happy. Something as small as a list of happy ideas could spark an emotion of happiness within us.
If you’re not working, the sky is the limit. You have many things that you can do to practice self-care. Something as simple as taking a walk can relieve stress and increase your happiness. You could take a drive while listening to your favorite album by your favorite artist. You could also take 3 to 5 minutes to just meditate. If you don’t know how to meditate, Google provides a plethora of videos and websites that shows you how you can make that happen.
We live in a time where stress is all around us. It’s important that you take care of yourself. It’s important that you feed your soul with happiness.
